Updates, Updates, and More Updates

Hey, people! Sorry for the lack if posts, I’ve been relatively lazy when it comes to posting blogs. But, I’m back so let’s gets started.

I’ve started my last semester at Holmes Community College. This semester I’m taking creative writing. So be expecting my work in upcoming blogs. I’m also taking piano and some other classes.

Currently, with SGA (Student Government) we’re planning October Fest. What we’re going to do will be great so if ya’ll go to the Grenada Center defiantly check it out.

We have another program coming up here at the Grenada Center. We’re having illusionists come. This is a first, because we never had illusionists come, it’s mostly been musicians.

But, other then that there hasn’t been much going on. So, be expecting more posts about creative writing and maybe reviews from programs that I attend at school. If ya’ll want to see any particular types of posts just let me know in the comments below.

She Reached Into Her Pocket And Smiled.

She reached into her pocket and smile. The wallet sized picture brought back many memories from the good old days. When she received the phone call that her friend from high school was back in town she knew she had to see him. Even though it had been two years since they had graduated she knew that Steven was a changed man. He finally got help for his drinking and now was working a steady job. She wondered if the old magic would be there. Would he smile at her and take her in his arms and thank her for waiting for him, or would he have moved on in every area of his life? Would he say he had a new girlfriend and life was great and, by the way, thanks for being a good friend.
Her mind wandered back to when they had first met. She knew he was the man for her. He had a smile that lit up his whole face and told her she was beautiful and that she would always be his girl. That was when he wasn’t drinking or had only a couple of drinks. Then as the night grew on, he would start to get angry about the simplest things. She watched stupid shows. Why was she always watching The Bachelor? Wasn’t he good enough for her? Why hadn’t she washed his clothes? He didn’t have anything to wear? It was worse when his friends were around. He would show off for them and treat her like she was worthless when she was the one working and paying the bills while he played video games and said he was looking for a job. Then one day, she snapped and told him it was over. That was the first time he hit her.
Weeks passed and it seemed like he enjoyed beating her. It got worse with every passing day. She still lied for him. “Oh, this bruise? I just have thin blood and every small bump gives me a large purple mark.” She ignored all her friends and became very antisocial. One night she came home from work and sat down on the couch. Suddenly she hears a very loud bang and sees Steven walking into the living room. “What are you doing sitting on the couch?! Where is my supper?!” He was wearing a very angry expression on his face that resembled the shade of a tomato. This immediately brought her up out of her chair and into the kitchen, speaking quietly of how she was sorry and that dinner would be ready shortly.
Despite the fact that she’d had a very tiresome day at work, more tiresome than any other day so far, she knew it wouldn’t end well if she didn’t give into his demands. It wasn’t going to end well, anyways, but at least doing what he told her to would lessen the pain she’d receive. It would lessen his disappointment and seemingly hatred towards her. Even though somewhere deep in the crevices of her mind, she knew their relationship wasn’t healthy, what one should be, this was a man she’d always wanted. Those feelings stuck with her even after high school, and other relationships were hard to maintain because she knew deep down, he had her heart.
When she got the phone call that he was returning to town, her heart sank into her stomach. A feeling had come over her that she had never felt before. She felt fear but also happiness. She hoped that he would be a changed man. The one she fell in love with. The one she originally wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Though she had these hopes, she was no dummy. She needed a plan if things went badly.
She had been hit for the last time. She knew better, but she couldn’t help but still love him. She shook her feelings away and began planning what would happen when they met eyes for the first time in forever. When they met she melted like butter when she looked into his baby blue eyes. Oh she was his again, and everybody who witnessed the event knew it, so they hoped he had changed for the better or he might this kill her this time around.

Big thanks to Mrs. Graham and the rest of the creative writing class for contributing to this story.

Mark 12:31

The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

James 4:12

There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4:12

Phil Robertson

I know I haven’t posted anything in a while and I do apologize. This topic I’m about to talk about is one that really makes me upset. So forgive me for my rant today. Today’s post is about Phil Robertson being suspend from A&E for giving his personal opinion on gay marriage.  This is disgusting! For one, he was asked to give HIS PERSONAL OPINION on something and he got his rights trampled on because it WAS NOT a favorable one. And secondly, he TOOK A STAND for what he believed in. While I was looking for more information on this earlier I saw a comment made by a Facebook user that pretty summed it up  by stating “I never watch Duck Dynasty but I know Phil is off the show for stating a personal opinion to a question asked about homosexuality. I believe in equal but if the roles had been reversed and Phil was gay talking about heterosexuals he’d have been hailed as a hero. Not very equal.” Now I’m against gay marriage for the same reasons that Phil is, but I believe that this person got it right when he made this statement. Seriously A&E if you don’t want to hear the truth then don’t ask someone for THEIR HONEST OPINION! If you think that A&E is wrong for what they did to Phil then go to this link  and sign the petition and call A&E and tell them what you think. I’ll leave ya’ll with this if you don’t want to hear the truth then don’t have others tell you the truth and like it says in Leviticus 18 “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” Leviticus 18:22.

psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
