The Duggars share a lot with viewers on TLC’s “19 Kids & Counting,” but  this may just be one of the most unique things yet.

The family, who lost their 20th child, baby Jubilee Shalom Duggar, in a  miscarriage earlier this month, shared photos of the baby fetus in images that  were shown at the memorial.

The controversial photos were first posted on Twitter by a family member  before quickly making their way around the Internet, according  to TMZ.

In them, a set of tiny feet are held between someone’s – presumably  Michelle’s – thumb and index finger.

“There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world,”  one photo reads.

Hundreds of family members and friends turned out for the service, held  Wednesday in Springdale, Ark. Michelle, who knew she would be too emotional to  express her thoughts and feelings in front of the overwhelming crowd, instead  played a letter she had read and recorded, according to People.

“I feel a great sorrow and grief, and yet at the same time I have a peace in  my heart,” the 45-year-old mother said. “This is so sad, but I have peace.

“There are people praying for us and angels surrounding our home, and there  was peace in the sorrow and the grief. Those feelings are mingled together.”

The Duggars first  learned of the tragedy during a routine checkup Dec. 8 when their doctor  couldn’t locate the tiny baby’s heartbeat.

“We had just been talking about baby names last night and they were getting  excited about naming a boy or a girl,” Michelle said at the time of breaking the  news to her 19 children. “It has been a real sad disappointment.”

But the family is choosing to look on the bright side of the situation.

“We have so much to be thankful for,” Michelle told People. “I know that in  the days and weeks to come there will be other things that I will walk through,  and grief that will come, and there will be times that we will worship and sing  praises.

“I know that God will allow me to continue to release the emotions that I  will release.”

Added Jim Bob: “I really believe  that God sees the bigger picture. I hope that her short life can encourage other  people who have gone through things like this.”

The Duggar family continues to let their loyal fanbase in on the developments after Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar discovered that their 20th child had passed away while still in Michelle’s womb. Last Friday, Jim Bob posted a letter to the fans thanking them for their support and adding “we also know that God promises to work all things for good in our lives.” As promised, they’ve updated their readers and viewers with news of the memorial service for their child, who they named Jubilee Shalom Duggar.

Surprising choice for a baby name, since “jubilee” brings to mind emancipation and celebration. However, “shalom” is a fitting middle name, since according to Merriam-Webster it means hello and goodbye. Even though the Duggars are saying goodbye to their daughter in this memorial service, Michelle and Jim Bob believe that they will meet her again in heaven someday.

When doctors determined, during a routine ultrasound, that the Duggars’ baby had already passed away, they advised Michelle to stay home and let the miscarriage occur naturally. However, Jim Bob mentioned on the blog that Michelle began feeling lightheaded and went to the hospital last night.

The large reality show clan already held a private memorial service for Jubilee; on Wednesday they will hold another one for family and close friends. No word yet on where or what time it will be, but it’ll be interesting to see if the paparazzi track down the location.

Even after a tough week for the hardy Duggars clan, Jim  Bob and wife Michelle are still finding ways to stay positive.

The Duggar parents will be holding a memorial service for their unborn child  on Wednesday, Dec. 14, whom they named, appropriately, Jubilee Shalom  Duggar.

“This is life, and I understand that we are going through something that  many others have,” Jim Bob told  People. “You think about the what-ifs, but God gives us strength to go  on.

“We won’t be able to see this child’s life and the phases that we’ve seen  for our other children, but we know we will see this child in heaven one day. We  are thankful for each child, and we are blessed to have the children we have  here and the ones we will meet someday in heaven.”

Following last Thursday’s devastating  news, Michelle felt  lightheaded and was ordered to stay in the hospital for observation, a  family spokesperson told People.

“Our doctor said it was wise to let this miscarriage happen naturally,”  Michelle, 45, said. “And so that is what we are going to do.

“I am resting and I have felt good physically, which is strange.”

In 2009, the family faced another precarious situation when their youngest  daughter Josie was born premature at just 25 weeks.

“She is a miracle baby and all of us, we are so lucky to have her,” Michelle  said at the time.

The couple, who already have 19 biological children between the ages of 2  and 23, have faith that this recent tragedy is not without reason, however.

“As our whole family is grieving, we also know that God promises to work all  things for good in our lives,” Jim Bob wrote in a letter that he shared with  People. “Our prayer is that Jubilee’s passing will help us all realize that this  life is short, and our relationship with Jesus is the most important thing.

“He gives us peace in our hearts as He guides us through whatever we might  face.”

The Duggars plan to name their child

On Thursday, December 7th, Michelle Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting” received the devastating news that their 20th child no longer had a heartbeat, during a routine checkup. In addition to this sad news was the medical complication that meant Michelle would have to miscarry naturally, because the drugs to constrict the uterus wouldn’t work with the scar from her emergency Cesarean.
Whatever you think of the family’s decision to breed an entire city, this is one of the most heart wrenching experiences anyone can go through. Michelle is currently resting at home. She told People “I am resting and I have felt good physically, which is strange.”
The couple suffered a previous miscarriage after the birth of their second child. Michelle was taking oral contraceptives at the time and says it’s part of the decision to stop using them. “We named that baby Caleb even though we didn’t know if it was a boy or  girl because that miscarriage was early,” she says.  “We will name this  child and will know that we will see those children again someday in  heaven.”
Michelle said that her family is taking care of her, including her daughter Jill who is studying to be a midwife. “The kids are mothering me now,” she says. “Jill just brought me some food and they are taking good care of me.” Best wishes Michelle.

Report: Michelle Duggar miscarries

Michelle Duggar has miscarried her 20th child, People magazinereported on Thursday.

“I feel like my heart broke telling my children,” said Michelle, who announced her pregnancy publicly last month on TODAY.

Michelle and her husband, Jim Bob, were hoping to find out the gender of their unborn child on Thursday; but the doctor was unable to find a heartbeat, People reported. The baby had been due in April, so Michelle was six months pregnant.

Last month: The Duggars announce they’re expecting a 20th child

“After the appointment, we came back home and told the children,” Michelle, 45, told People. “We had just been talking about baby names last night and they were getting excited about naming a boy or a girl. It has been a real sad disappointment.”

The Duggars told People magazine they plan to name the baby, once they find out if it was a boy or a girl, and then they’ll have a funeral service.

“The Lord is the giver of life and he can choose when that life is ready to go on and be with Him,” Michelle Duggar said.

The Duggars star on the TLC reality series “19 Kids and Counting,” which chronicled the difficulties of Michelle Duggar’s last pregnancy with Josie, now 2 years old. Michelle suffered from gall-bladder problems as well as preeclampsia. In order to save her life, doctors delivered daughter Josie three and a half months prematurely – she weighed only one pound, six ounces at birth, and endured a series of health emergencies, including a perforated bowel. Josie eventually went home with the rest of the Duggar family, and is now a healthy toddler who celebrated her second birthday in December.

In an interview with TODAY last summer, Michelle Duggar acknowledged the struggles of the 19th pregnancy, but said she would welcome more children. “The precious life that we see here is not a coincidence,” she said, referring to her youngest daughter Josie. “I just know that it is a miracle. I don’t take that for granted. I know that God is the one who gives life, and I’m just so grateful and thankful. We would welcome another if He saw fit, but we’ll wait and see.”

The Duggars also suffered a miscarriage with their second pregnancy. Originally, they planned to have only one to three children, and Michelle took oral birth control pills. But the miscarriage led them to believe they should eschew birth control.

The couple felt “devastated” by their first miscarriage, they wrote in their recently published book, “A Love That Multiplies”:

“At that point we read in Scripture that children are a blessing from the Lord and a gift from Him. We asked God to forgive us for taking matters in to our own hands and to give us a love for children like His love for them. We committed to letting Him decide how many children we would have and when they would be born,” the Duggars wrote.
