http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news/67994/Daniel-Radcliffe-Im-Not-Friends-With-Rupert-Grint

They may play best-friends in ‘Harry Potter’ but Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he barely speaks to co-star Rupert Grint and that despite the public’s assumption they are not friends.

The actors, who have known each other from the age of 11 completed eight films together and grew up in the spotlight along with co-star Emma Watson but now hardly talk.

The news will come as a blow to fans as the friendship between Daniel’s character Harry and Ron Weasley played by Rupert is the enduring focus of the story.

According to the Sunday Mirror the actor said: “If I see him every six months or so, it’s a friendly ‘hello, how’s things with you’ but that’s about it.”

The 22 year-old admitted that he is still close with ‘My Week With Marilyn’ Star Emma, but that he has drifted from Rupert.

He added: “I’m just going to put it out there, Emma and I text all the time but Rupert and I never text each other, we never see each other.”

The last film in the ‘Harry Potter’ saga ‘Deathly Hallows Part 2’ was released last summer and since then the three stars have made an effort to strike out in their own directions.

Emma has thrown herself into her studies at Oxford University and Daniel recently completed a very successful stint on Broadway in the play, ‘How To Succeed In Business Without Even Trying’ and will next star in ‘The Woman In Black’.

Rupert has been most recently featured in Ed Sheeran’s latest video for track ‘Lego House’.

Fashion Faceoff: Emma Watson vs. Chloe Moretz

http://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/runway/fashion-faceoff-emma-watson-vs-chloe-moretz-175330962.html#more-59?nc

Basic black can be so boring! Starlets Emma Watson and Chloe Moretz instead opted to show off their fun fashion sense in a plaid McQ mini dress just four days apart. So … it’s time for us to judge just who wore it better.

Emma Watson, 21, posed in the frock while attending the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London on September 6. “Harry Potter’s” Hermione shook things up by pairing the design with a leather jacket, a tulle tutu, and a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps.

Chloe Moretz, who’s only 14, wore the same dress at the 2011 Toronto Film Festival in the same week. The “Kick-Ass” actress made the look her own by accessorizing with black heels and socks, which have much the same effect as ankle boots.

Both beauties win props for daring to wear the printed garment, but only Emma had the style savvy to rev up its volume with a tutu and add edginess with her outerwear. For that, I declare her the winner. There is consolation for Chloe, though, who proves in this ensemble that in years to come, she’ll definitely be one to watch on the red carpet. Do you agree?

Behind the Scenes of ‘Harry Potter’ Stars’ Big Kiss

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2http://movi

It was a cinematic moment ten years and eight movies in the making.  A scene fans were dying to see, and one the actors were dreading to film.  It was the long-awaited kiss between Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.”

Fans all over the world got to see the epic smooch when the movie played this summer, bringing in $1.3 billion dollars (the most of any “Harry Potter” movie).  But now for the first time you can take a look behind the scenes to see how stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson handled the dramatic scene.

In the video, David Yates, the director of the last four “Harry Potter” films, explains that the two actors had different approaches to filming the kiss.  He said that since Emma Watson didn’t want to have to do multiple takes of the scene, she was “going to get it right the first time.”  He tells how he could see her psyche herself up before the camera rolled, but Rupert Grint hadn’t worked up to the same level of intensity.  “I think Rupert wasn’t quite expecting it,” Yates said, “and then she just went for it.” But then the kiss was quickly broken as the two friends burst out laughing.

While it might seem like kissing isn’t a bad way to spend a work day, Grint and Watson explained to the UK’s TelegraphTV why the scene was so difficult for them.  “It feels weird saying this, because I’m sure loads of guys are just really jealous,” Grint said. “I mean, she’s lovely.  I just felt so wrong, really.  Kissing this person I’ve known since she was nine.”

Watson said she also felt quite a bit of pressure to please the fans who had been waiting so long for the kiss to happen.  She said, “Can you imagine, building up to a kiss for, like, ten years?  We’ve been building up for this kiss for a decade.  How am I going to do this justice?  I felt like it’s the most anticipated kiss of all time.  So, it was intense.”

There will be many more behind-the-scenes secrets revealed in the bonus features of the upcoming Blu-ray.  In the “Maximum Movie Mode,” actor Matthew Lewis (who played Neville Longbottom) hosts a feature-length look at the making of the film’s stand-out scenes.  The Blu-ray will also have a conversation between star Daniel Radcliffe and author J.K. Rowling where they discuss how “Potter” has changed both of their lives.  And it will present deleted scenes, with moments that were left out of the final film.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” will arrive on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download on November 11.

Once co-stars (and quite tragically so) in the “Harry Potter” series, Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t envy his former Hogwarts classmate Robert Pattinson.

While Radcliffe just finished starring in the biggest film franchise of all time, he told The Hollywood Reporter that his gradual introduction to fame made life a lot easier for him, which wasn’t the case for Pattinson.

“I think he’s had to do with kind of a lot more,” he said. “I had a very gradual easing in to the idea of fame, because I was doing the first two films back to back almost. So, while the whole ‘Potter’ film franchise was exploding, I was in studios filming and kind of unaware that this thing was going massive outside. Where as Rob, [he] was suddenly the most famous guy in the world. I think that’s a lot harder to deal with.”

There’s also the matter of how their characters are portrayed, as well as the public’s perception of the actors themselves. Radcliffe’s Harry Potter is a boy wizard, steely and determined, but dressed in scarves and long black robes, not to mention his iconic rounded glasses. His love life in the books and film series is a late addition, and generally takes a backseat to the main action, which involves saving the entire world.

Meanwhile, Pattinson’s Edward Cullen is described in the books as an adonis, a smoldering romantic of a vampire who is both sexily complicated and wildly devout to his virginal teen girlfriend. In short, the perfect man, undead or not. The entire series is predicated on their love and his willingness to take on all obstacles to defend her; in the end, all of his problems come from this undying love.

As for the actors themselves, the public watched Radcliffe grow up on screen, going from a 10-year old child to the 20-year old man he is today. In many ways it casts him like a friend or brother, more than sex symbol. Meanwhile, Pattinson was sprung onto world fully grown, and his secretive relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart was the total wish fulfillment of everyone who wanted to believe in the movie — or gawk at two beautiful people.

With Radcliffe now done with Potter and starring on Broadway, and Pattinson wrapping up his saga in the next year and branching out his film career, it will be interesting to see which young Brit has more staying power — both in show business, and the tabloids.

Daniel Radcliffe, Girlfriendhttp://www.eonline.com/news/five_things_weve_learned_about_daniel/259055

After photos of Daniel Radcliffe and his new lady in strolling the streets in New York  City hit the Internet, all we wanted to know was who is she?!

And now we have some answers!

So if you’re dying to know who this pretty brunette (who can pull off wearing  leggings with flip-flops quite well) in lavender is…here you go:

MORE: Daniel Radcliffe Debuts Mystery Girlfriend in  NYC

1. She Has a Name: We can finally identify the 22-year-old  by something other than her hair color or wardrobe. She is Rosanne  Coker, but friends call her Rose.

2. Potter Love: It would be weird if Radcliffe  dated a girl that wasn’t into Harry Potter (well, we think it would  be), but that isn’t an issue here. The duo met on the set of Harry Potter  and the Half-Blood Prince in 2007 when Coker worked as a production’s  assistant. And that was just the beginning. Radcliffe and Coker also worked on  the last two H.P. films together and his latest project, The Woman in Black.

3. Creative Genes: Rose’s father is the owner of a painting  and decorating business, while her mother designs birthday cards. And the apple  doesn’t fall from the tree, because Miss Coker is a painter herself!

4. Travel Bug: Since the beginning of their relationship a  year ago, the actor’s love interest has been splitting her time between his NYC  apartment and her family’s close-to $660,000 home in Surrey, England.

5. Daddy Approves: Danny boy has already met the family, but  don’t rush off thinking there’s a wedding in store. However, if there was, he’d  get Mr. Coker’s blessing. “I have met Daniel and he is a lovely guy. I’m just  really happy for Rosanne and as long as she is happy that is all that matters to  me,” he tells the Daily Mail. “No other parent would ask any more. I  know it’s not a normal life they live. But they have a lot of fun together and  at their age, what more could you ask? Who knows where it is going to lead?”

Who Is Daniel Radcliffe's New Girlfriend?http://movies.yahoo.com/news/daniel-radcliffes-girlfriend-180736794.html?nc

Harry Potter and the Mysterious New Girlfriend!

On Wednesday, Daniel Radcliffe was photographed in NYC taking a stroll — holding hands with a pretty young brunette.

PHOTOS: How the Harry Potter stars have grown up

So far, the identity of his new gal pal (wearing a loose purple tank top and leggings with her hair held back) has not yet been divulged.

The rather private Harry Potter star, 22, left a clue about a new love in his life during a July interview with Larry King on CNN. “I’ve got a girlfriend at the moment, who I am very much in love with,” the British star teased. “So, you know, we’ll see where that goes.”

Last summer, Radcliffe was said to be dating Olive Uniacke — the stepdaughter of a Harry Potter saga producer.

What kind of woman does Radcliffe favor? “Girls my own age are not really an option,” he said in 2009. “I find, generally speaking, they have to be entertained more than older girls do.”

LONDON (AP) — For years, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and her family had honored a French ancestor who they believed was a World War I war hero.

But the best-selling author has now discovered that her family had been mistaken about the true identity of her great-grandfather.

Rowling, 46, has recorded a television program with the BBC that shows her coming to terms with the revelation that her family had confused Louis Volant, a war hero awarded with the Legion d’honneur for his bravery during the Battle of Verdun, with her real great-grandfather, who had the same name and also fought for France.

Rowling told the BBC magazine published Tuesday Radio Times that the experience was an upsetting and emotional one. She said taking part in her genealogy research made her so emotional that she cried several times.

“There were a lot of big surprises, some wonderful, and one rather upsetting,” she said in an interview.

“However, I went into the program wanting the truth, no matter what it was, because I knew so little about my French ancestry, and I don’t regret a moment of it. I loved the whole experience,” she added.

When Rowling was awarded the Legion d’honneur for her services to literature in 2009, she described her pride being the second winner of the honor in the family, and how her accomplishments could not compare to the bravery of her ancestor and men like him.

She said that she has undertook the project because her mother Anne Volant, who died in 1990, was very interested in her French roots but never got the chance to explore them.

“A huge motivation in looking into my family history is my mother. It’s very much bound up in that loss,” she said.

The BBC show, called “Who Do You Think You Are?” will be broadcast later this month.
